The 21 days Mountain Rwenzori hiking tour coupled with mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable forest, wild chimpanzee tracking and wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth national park offering a fantastic adventure for travelers traveling in Uganda. The 9-day mountain Rwenzori trek goes to the summit of Margherita peak at 5109m and later goes to Mount Speke at 4890m and you descend visit the Weismann’s peak 4620m and descends further to the grounds where you started the hike.

Day1: Pickup from your hotel – Transfer to Kasese

Our company tour guide will be at your hotel in the morning after your breakfast and be ready to drive off to Kasese where you will be having an early overnight to start the mountain hike tomorrow.

Day 2: Wild Chimpanzee Tracking
Wakeup early to a cup of coffee and be ready to head out with your tour guide to the Kibale park offices at Kanyanchu Visitor Center where you meet other tourists for briefing on the chimpanzee tracking activity. The chimps are wild in the trees and on the ground and can be heard making lots of communicating sounds. You will see a number of other primates in Kibale national park including the white and black colobus monkeys, baboons, vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys lots of species if birds and butterflies.

In the afternoon after lunch, you will take part in guided nature walk in Bigodi wetland a beautiful natural place with lots of birds and primates.

Day 3. Start mount Rwenzori hike at Kilembe the base camp1450m
Have breakfast at your hotel in the morning and drive to the base of mountain Rwenzori at trekkers Hostel Kilembe at a starting height of 1450 meters. You meet your guides and the hiking team right for briefing about what to expect during the 9-day Rwenzori trekking tour. At this point, you can hire porters to help carry your back pack who will accompany you with the rest of the team. Start the hike taking you up to Sine Camp 2596 meters where you will be having overnight.

Day 4. Trekking to Mutinda camp at 3588 m
Today you will be hiking up to 950 meters to Mutinda camp starting off early morning with breakfast at your camp. It’s a beautiful hike to Mutinda camp at 3590 meters with lunch stop and arrival at the camp in the afternoon. You will also adventure more when you hike to the Mutinda look at 3980 meters which has amazing views and g good acclimatization to start the next day trek.

Day 5. Hike to Bugata camp at 4062 meters,
After breakfast at the camp, be ready to hike to Bugata camp at 4062 with sights of beautiful vegetations, plants, streams and rivers, waterfalls as you arrive at Bugata camp where you will be having overnight and dinner. Today you will gain a height of 480 meters with the hike getting strenuous through steep ridges and boggy stretches to the beautiful nature ahead the following day.

Day 6. Trek to Hunwick’s camp at 3974 meters,
Set off after breakfast at your camp and hike through Bamwanjara pass at 4450 meters where you will encounter breathtaking views of the main summits from a distance including Margherita and Speak. You will have overnight at Hunwick’s camp

Day 7. Climb to Margherita camp at 4487 meters
Setoff after a quick breakfast at the camp hiking up and crossing the valley floor to beautiful Lake Kitandara covered with the thick vegetation and undergrowth, arriving to Margherita summit trekking through Scoot Elliot pass to overnight at Margherita camp.

Day 8. Hike Mount Stanley
Today you will set off for the hike to mount Stanely by 2:00am with an early cup of coffee from the camp. The climb sets off to climb Mt Stanley climbing through its glaciers to the summit of Margherita peak at 5109metres. From the peak you descend down to sleep at Bujuku caves.

Day 9. Climb Mount Speke
You will have breakfast and later set for to hike the summit of mount Speke 4890m and overnight at Hunwick’s Camp 3974m.

Day 10. Descend to Weismann’s peak
Today you will set off from Hunwick’s camp descending through the Olivers pass, passing via the Weismann’s summit for those up to for a challenge as you continue to Kiharo camp at 3430 meters in a deep valley with high cliffs and dense vegetation where you will be having overnight.

Day 11. Descend to Kilembe basecamp
Start off with breakfast and descend down hill over moss covered mountain rocks along beautiful rivers and forests walking down to the basecamp in Kilembe. Your driver guide will be waiting in your arrival to drive off to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 12: Lion Tracking Experiential – Launch Cruise along the Kazinga channel
After you have had your breakfast at the lodge head out to Queen Elizabeth national park for lion tracking experiential where the guide drive off tracking searching for lions and other wildlife. The lions are tracked which makes it easy to locate them in the park. This is the best chance to view the cats on your tour in Uganda. Return early enough to check in at your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you have a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel. This will reward you with astonishing sights at hippos, crocodiles, water birds and many other wildlife species.

Day 13: Game viewing along Kasenyi track and drive to Ishasha area
Have your breakfast early at your accommodation and set off for morning game drive along Kasenyi track where you will view lotsof savanna wildlife species including kobs, antelopes, African bush elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions and birds. This will take you 2-3 hours and after, you will drive back to have lunch. In the afternoon, you will drive to Ishasha area to look out for tree climbing lions.

Day 14: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Start your day with early morning breakfast and after, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where a section of mountain gorillas thrive. En-route, you will have lunch at Savanna Resort and then proceed to Bwindi National Park.

Day 15: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up early in the morning to prepare and enjoy your breakfast then join other visitors at your respective trailhead for briefing on the set rules and regulations for gorilla trekking. At 8:00am, you will kick off with your primate adventure to search for the gorilla family that will be assigned to you. This primate adventure can take you 2-6 hours which also includes the one hour of exploring how these great apes behave, take photos. After, you will get back and in the afternoon or evening, you will pay a visit to Batwa community for you to learn the unique lifestyles, cultures and traditions of Batwa pygmies.

Day 16: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
After your delicious breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and then connect to Lake Bunyonyi which consists of 29 scenic islands. Explore Lake Bunyonyi by taking canoe ride to the islands and spot out various birds.

Day 17: Explore the islands of Lake Bunyonyi – Transfer to Volcanoes national park
After breakfast, you will embark on canoe ride to some of the 29 islands that are dotted in and around Lake Bunyonyi. Most importantly, pay a visit to the punishment island and in addition, you will identify some of the unique bird species.

On return be ready to drive crossing into Rwanda for Volcanoes national park where you will have overnight.

Day 18: Golden Monkey tracking – Visit Ibyiwacu cultural village
Today you will be watching golden monkeys in Volcanoes national park. Fun activity where you see the golden monkeys close by in trees and on the grounds. You get good sights up-close and take beautiful photography.
Return to your accommodation for lunch and in the evening visit the Ibyiwacu cultural village where you will meet and interact with the people of Rwanda and their culture.

19: Transfer to lake Kivu – Boat-ride
Setoff at leisure today driving from your accommodation to lake Kivu at the border of Congo and Rwanda. You will have a boat ride on arrival at your accommodation to different the different islands on lake Kivu.

Day 20: Nyiragongo Volcano Hike
Have breakfast at your accommodation and by 7:00am be at the Goma border for immigration clearance, cross to Goma proceeding to the Kabita patrol, village where Nyiragongo hiking begins.   Register and attend a short meeting about the do’s and don’ts of hiking plus safety tips. At 10:00am, start off this thrilling but strenuous hiking adventure.   Hiking to the summit of Nyiragongo strata Volcano at   3,470 meters above the sea level takes roughly 7 hours or less depending on speed of the slowest person in your group. Camp at the summit to enjoy the boiling   lava lake that is clearly seen at night.

Day 21: Descend & transfer to Kigali
Today you will be descending the volcano after a night of watching the molten lava in the Nyiragongo volcano. You will have a beautiful breakfast at the volcano and the team descends down to find your guide waiting. You will drive to. Drive to Kigali arriving in time to visit the Kigali city to the genocide memorial site and a later departure flight.
