This 2 weeks Uganda safari adventure takes you through the magical Uganda’s national parks for wildlife exploration of the big game including the tree climbing lions,  herds of buffaloes and elephants, giraffes, Zebras and many antelope species like the Uganda kobs and impalas. This trip also takes you to the home of the world’s most endangered primatesthe Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable forest.  The 13 days Uganda safari starts and ends in Entebbe/Kampala.

DETAILED TRIP

Day1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

You will be picked by our local tour guide from the airport and transfer you to your hotel in either Kampala or Entebbe. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel/ Imperial Botanical Beach hotel In Entebbe(luxury), The Boma Guest house(Mid-range), Lakeview guesthouse(Budget)

 

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

After your early morning breakfast, your tour guide will pick you from your hotel and drive you to Murchison Falls National Park through Luwero and Masindi. Have a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking.The park is a home to over 76 mammal speciesincluding giraffes, elephants, and buffaloes, warthogs, spotted hyenas, leopards and lions. 450 bird species have been recorded there includingmost sought after the shoebill stork. r transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight at Red Chilli(Budget), Sambiya River lodge or Budongo Eco lodge (Standard), Paraa Safari Lodge or Nile Safari Camp(Luxury).

Day 3: Game drive-Murchison Falls NP

After breakfast in the morning head out for the game drivein the open savanna in search for buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, Uganda Kobs, water-bucks, oribi, lions, hyena, a leopard when they are most active in the morning hours. Returns to the lodge relax and have lunch, you will then launch a boat ride along Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls.  The Boat ride along the River Nile takes 3 hours to rieach the bottom of the Murchison falls for a best views.  You will have a close view of the Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, elephants drinking along the Nile. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Red Chilli(Budget), Sambiya River lodge or Budongo Eco lodge (Standard), Paraa Safari Lodge or Nile Safari Camp(Luxury).

Day 4: Murchison Falls NP to Kibale NP

We will depart from Murchison Falls to Fort Portal with lunch en route. Various stopovers to the beautiful landscapes of this beautiful countryside. Optional visit to one of the local homes to equip yourself with the day today life of the local people here and also to support the community. Proceed to Fort Portal. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking

After breakfast, head to Kibale National Park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee tracking and then slope into the forest and start looking for the chimpanzees. Noticeable are several other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, L’hoest that are seenjumping from one tree to another as you are looking for the chimpanzees. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a swamp walk at Bigodi swamp bird watching many different primates. Dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for a number of wildlife like the hippos, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, plant species and a number of birds. Visit the crater lakes like Lake Katwe famous for salt and continue for lunch. Have lunch at the lodge then head to the Kazinga channel for the boat cruise that may give you the opportunity to see Crocodiles, Hippos, water birds and land mammal at the water edge as they cool off the hot sunny day. Dinner and Overnight at Simba safari lodge (Budget), Ihamba Lodge (Mid-range) or Mweya safari Lodge (Luxury).

Day 8:  Game drive and boat cruise

Early morning, after breakfast, go for a game drive for game like the lions, water bucks, warthogs,buffaloes,hippos  and birds  mostly those that are found mainly in the Albertine  rift valley. The park is the best place to track the tree climbing lions. Return to the lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, go for a launch cruise on the famous Kazinga channel and view a number of water birds, elephants, buffaloes drinking from the shores of the lake. Dinner and overnight at Simba safari lodge (Budget), Ihamba Lodge (Mid-range) or Mweya safari Lodge (Luxury).

Day 9: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, transfer to Bwindi National Park famous for the rare mountain gorillas through Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions and a variety of other wildlife species. Dinner and overnight at your lodge depending on the gorilla group to be tracked. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community bandas (Budget), Wagtail Eco lodge (Moderate), Silver back lodge (Luxury)

Day 10: Gorilla Trekking  & Community tour to the Batwa

Today you will have n early breakfast and with packed lunch, go for briefing by UWA staff at the park headquarters on how to go about this amazing activity of tracking the Gorillas in their natural habitat. The hike starts at 8:00am as look for the gorillas together with a team of ranger guides to find the location of these forest giants.Once you find them, you will spend a full hour with the gorillas and see how they feed, play with each other. This is always a great moment to take pictures of these apes.The tracking activity can take 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community bandas (Budget), Wagtail Eco lodge (Moderate), Silver back lodge (Luxury).

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi Kabale

After breakfast in the morning you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in kabale district. You will be amazed at the stunning views of the many Islands and rings of terraced farms in the kigezi region dominated by Bakiga tribe. It is the best place to relax after the tiring gorilla safari in Bwindi Impenetrable National Parkenjoying the beauty of Kigezi hills.Whole day free relaxing or explore the island on the canoes. Optional hikes to the Batwa community or nearby schools, swimming or canoeing. Dinner and overnight at Rock Resort Bunyonyi.

 

Day 12:  Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Take your breakfast very early and drive to Lake Mburo National Park the home to a large population of Zebras and impalas in Uganda. Bush bucks, dickers and elands are also found here.  You will arrive about noon time and have your lunch in the park and you will go for a nature walk to the salt lick lake area and view a number of wildlife licking salt from the lake. You will then go for a canoe ride.Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo bandas.

Day 13: Game drive and transfer to Entebbe.

After breakfast you will go for morning game viewing moment in the park in search for the early risers like the zebras, impala and the elands when they are most active as they feed in this small Savannah. You will then have your lunch and check out of the Lodge and drive back to Entebbe with a stopover at the equator for a photo moment.
