Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver guide who will brief you on what your 5 days Murchison and Kibale tour covers. Later, you will drive northwestwards to Murchison Falls National Park through Kampala-Luweero-Masindi route which is 4-5 hours’ drive. En-route, you will make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. After, you will connect to Masindi Town where you will have enjoyable lunch then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park through Kichumbanyobo park gate. Drive to the top of the falls to witness Murchison Falls as it squeezes itself in a narrow gorge of about 7 meters before breaking off to about 43 meters.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

Enjoy your tasty cup of tea or coffee in the morning and after, you will drive to the northern circuit of Murchison Falls National Park where game drives are conducted. On a game drive, expect to view huge concentration of wildlife species including  antelopes, leopards, giraffes, lions, elephants, buffalos, birds to mention but a few. Game drive along the northern track of Murchison Falls National Park will take you approximately 2-3 hours and after exciting moments, drive back to the lodge to relax and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you have a launch cruise to the bottom of the falls at 2:00pm. A boat cruise along to the bottom of the falls will reward you with amazing sight at hippos, crocodiles, water birds including kingfishers, bee-eaters and many others. The boat ride in this area takes you about 2-3 hours.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Start the day with early morning breakfast and later, meet your driver guide who will transfer you to Kibale National Park. However, you will first have last round of game drive to catch a glimpse at the early morning risers such as lions, leopards, hyenas and birds among others. Later, proceed to Kibale National Park which is 7 hours’ drive in a good and comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle. En-route, enjoy the jaw dropping sceneries, landscapes and also have lunch-preferably packed. Arrive and check in at your lodge of choice in Kibale National Park.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you are expected at Kanyanchu Visitor Center where you will join other visitors for briefing on the set dos and don’ts for chimpanzee tracking. Briefing usually begins at 7:00am and at 8:00am, you will kick start your primate adventure which may last you about 2-4 hours with a maximum of one hour to have a face to face encounter. Along the way, you will come across other primates including black and white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, L’Hoest monkeys as well as birds, colorful butterflies and many others. After, you will return to have lunch and in the afternoon, you will transfer to Bigodi Wetland for guided nature walk. A guided nature walk around Bigodi takes through amazing primate encounter especially the L’Hoest monkeys, red colobus, vervet monkeys, baboons; bird s including the great blue Turacos plus other mammal species.

Day 5: Return to Kibale National Park

Have breakfast early in the morning at your lodge and after, you drive back to Kampala or Entebbe. En-route, enjoy the beautiful sceneries of tea plantations and you will have lunch too along the way.
