Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Get a warm welcome from our driver guide after breakfast at hotel in Kampala. You will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, southwestern Uganda about 9-10 hours’ drive depending on the route with en-route stopover at Equator for relaxation, photography and Igongo Cultural Center for lunch. From Mbarara, proceed to Bwindi National Park to check in at a lodge of your choice.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and visit to Batwa community

Have breakfast early in the morning and after, gather at trailhead as per your gorilla permit for briefing on gorilla trekking rules and regulations. You will trek only one habituated family in a group of 8 visitors. The actual trek starts at 8:00am and you will be accompanied by an experienced and armed park ranger guide. Your adventure will last for about 2-6 hours and this also covers the one hour of magical encounter. After, you will get back to the lodge to have rest and in the afternoon/evening, you will pay a visit to Batwa Community for cultural tour.

Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Get up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park a home to tree climbing lions and many other savanna grassland dwellers. In the afternoon, you will have a boat trip on Kazinga channel which gets you the best view of hippos, crocodiles and many water birds.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will take part in game drive along Kasenyi track of Queen Elizabeth National Park. On a game drive, expect to spot out variety of wildlife species including lions, bush elephants, birds, leopards, antelopes and many others. After the 2 to 3 hour game drive, return to have lunch and in the afternoon, you go for launch trip. A boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park takes you via Kazinga Channel which gets you a chance to see hippos, crocodiles, water birds and other wildlife species.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, you will embark on morning game drive to look out for the creatures that you missed out the previous day. The wildlife species to spot out include bush elephants, warthogs, lions, leopards, birds and others. Later, you will drive to Kibale National Park which is about 2-3 hours’ drive.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking and guided nature walks

Wake up early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast and after, you will gather at Kanyanchu Visitor Center for briefing on the set rules and regulations for chimpanzee tracking. After, you will set off for your actual trek at 8:00am and trek for about 2-4 hours and once you find the chimps, you have one hour to explore their behaviors, take as many photos as possible. Return and enjoy your lunch and in the afternoon, you have nature walk in Bigodi Wetland. A guided nature walk in Bigodi Wetland gets you amazing sights at variety of primates including the red colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, birds and several mammal species. Do not miss to visit the KAFRED local project in Kibale National Park.

Day 7: Drive back to Kampala

Have breakfast and after, drive back to Kampala about 4-5 hours. En-route, you will have lunch-preferably packed and arrive to Kampala or Entebbe early enough.
