Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Forest

Our company drive guide will pick you up and transfer to Bwindi Forest national park. Cross to Uganda via Katuna border and connect to Buhoma sector north of Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park.  The drive from Kigali to Buhoma is roughly 5 hours via the rolling hills of Rwanda and Kabale regions. You may do a Batwa community visit if time allows. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany springs Lodge (Luxury), Buhoma Forest Camp (Budget).

 

Day 2: Gorilla trekking & transfer to QENP

Have an early morning breakfast and with your packed lunch transfer to the park head quarters for registration and pre gorilla trekking briefing. There you will be introduced to the dos and don’tsof gorillatrekking and allocated to gorilla families. At8:00am, hike into the jungle in search of the assigned gorilla family. Buhoma region was the first region to  be  visited  by first travelers  and  is home to  the oldest gorilla family (Mubare). Spend an hour with endangeredgorillas, relish their company and embrace theirsocial behaviors similar to those of people.  Dinner and overnight at Mahogany springs Lodge (Luxury), Buhoma Forest Camp (Budget).

 

Day 3:  Transfer to QENP & boat cruise

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park.  Enjoy this scenic drive through Kabale and Ankole regions connection to QENP via ishasha sector south of the park. Look out for tree climbing lions in the acacia trees and proceed to the lodge for refreshment. In the evening, go for a boat ride at kazinga channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George. Enjoy sailing on the calm waters, look out for birds such as Long tailed cormorants, Yellow backed weavers, Pied kingfisher, Fish eagle, Spur winged Whistling, black crake, African jacana and water tick knee among others. Also, expect to see water animals like crocodiles and hippos resting lazily on the riverbanks. Dinner and overnight at Pumba Safari Lodge (Budget), Park view Safari lodge (Mid range), Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury).

 

Day 4: Game viewing & departure

Wake up early and transfer to the open savannahs of the park for game viewing. Queen Elizabeth National Park has a highconcentration of wild animals, whichincludeUganda kobs, lions, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, buffalos, Topis, leopards and hippos among others.  The driver guide will help you spot these animals and explain unique features abouteach animal. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, have lunch and transfer to Entebbe for your connecting flight.
